The Web Accessibility Initiative tries to improve the accessibility of the internet for people with disabilities. People with disabilities encounter difficulties when using computers, especially when accessing the internet, since they have to rely on non-standard devices and browsers. To make websites accessible, not only benefits people with disabilities but also benefits a wide range of user agents and devices which have limited resources, like mobile devices.

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) launched the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) with the endorsement of governments and W3C members. It installed several working groups and interest groups working on guidelines to make the World Wide Web accessible to everyone.

We as developers subscribe ourselves to produce websites in compliance with the guidelines brought forth through the WAI, and therewith set high standards for our partners to fulfill. The usability and accessibility of websites and interfaces is one of our main goals in website development.
